Anemones
Anemones
Anemones are incredible. Long-lasting in the vase (sometimes 2 weeks!) and brilliantly colored, anemones remind many people of poppies but they are a much more hardy cut-flower, one of the best really. We sell anemones in bunches of 20, 30, and 40. Our harvest window for anemones is February-May.
Anemones are shipped FedEx Priority Overnight anywhere in the Continental US beginning the week of 3/27 and ship every Wednesday from the farm. PRICES INCLUDE SHIPPING AND HANDLING, so you will pay no additional fees at check-out. Make sure to choose the “Flat Rate Shipping” option and the use code WAVESHIPPINGFEE at checkout to avoid any additional shipping fees. Expect your order to arrive on Thursday or Friday, depending on your location. Don’t fear— your anemones tolerate traveling well, and we guarantee our fresh cut and shipped products in the case that something doesn’t go according to plan.
We primarily sell “Grower’s Choice” colors of anemones. What’s “Grower’s Choice” you ask? In a given week we look a what’s blooming in the field and harvest 20 (30, or 40) of the most beautiful anemones out there on Wednesday morning. That means your blooms will be incredibly fresh when they arrive because we will ship them to you that same day! We also sell two types of bunches of specific colors, Purple/Lavender and Red/Burgundy/White. As always, all flowers are grown on the farm exclusively with organic methods. We’ll give you at least two different colors of anemones in each order that combine nicely with each other for a mixed bouquet.
Flowers will ship the Wednesday following your order placement, i.e. if you make your purchase on 3/27 for example, your first shipment will go out on Wednesday, 3/29; Tuesday is our cut-off day in any given week for orders that week.
We include flower care tips with each order, but they are basically: Trim Those Stems. Flowers like to be refreshed with a trim; remove about ½” and make your 45 degree cut with a clean scissors or knife. Drink It Up. After traveling, your flowers will need a deep drink. Fill up a clean vessel with cold water. If your flowers appear wilted at first, do not fear! They should perk up in 2-4 hours once they’ve rested in water. Change water daily (if possible) to prevent bacteria from growing on stems and make your flowers last longer. After Care. Keep your beauties cool and out of direct sunlight.
Thank you for supporting our small, family farm with your purchase!
