This is the variety that I call “The Queen of Dahlias”. The Café au Lait is a large, “dinner plate” decorative dahlia, up to 10.5” across. Cafés are serious show-stoppers and quite ephemeral with a short life in the vase. However, they are a perfect cream, some with a rose blush that highlights new buds, and then they generally soften to ivory as the flowers mature.
